He doesn't know what you mean when you say "platform Theme"

Pretty much that a making the base of a themes. Taking that and making it the starting point for every theme, that why they only have to change the specific features for each theme.

Like a frame of a house. Its the same house but colors, decor and ect are different, but the same floor plan.

I think you guys need to stop asking when the skin updates will be done and just use the ones for IPB 3.1.4 for now!! Its not SkinBox's fault that IPB has to change everything around and leave everyone up shits creek for some of us with modded boards to where IPB only gives a dam about "Their" main software and not all the mods and addons that mod authors have to redo all over again, including redoing the skins from scratch!!

Remember, IPB charges you $25.00 every 6 months and with that, they provide support so dont hesitate to ask them for help in updating your boards!! As for the skins by Skinbox, they are well worth the time being put into them as they are the best themes around for IPB!! I purchased 2.. Cielo and Surface myself and I would rather they take their time in updating the skins for 3.2.x as last time their were some bugs and errors with the ones for 3.1.4 originally!!!

For now all the hype of 3.2.0 is nothing new... Im going to stick to 3.1.4 for awhile as you know from history.. it will take a couple more versions before 3.2 is etched in stone as a final product! That is before 3.3 is introduced and we go through all this nonsense all over again lol!!! :)

I do happen to have 1 request.

IPB has removed the Avatars from IPB and locked them at these super tiny little square images. Do you think it's possible you can hack back in Avatar support?

On my dev tinkering with it, I managed with : <img src='{$author['pp_main_photo']}' class='ipsUserPhoto ipsUserPhoto_large' /> but it caused some CSS issues with their default skin I haven't bothered to tinker with, was only trying to see if it was possible.

Using this allowed linking of the full size image people can use for their new picture.

Would really like if you had in the possibility to switch between the two in some fashion, as removing avatars without making Photos have the functionality of Avatars was not the smartest move I have ever seen Invision make.

It takes approximately 60 hours of work - to create a Platform Theme from stretch.

This is a lot of work - especially if you have more jobs - and not just professional Skinner.

IP.Services dramatically change their software every time - It is good mostly because of security.

Now the default IPB skin is too dicey and dysfunctional-I think it was all intentional-
but fortunately the market has other options

for this reason I buy skins now - I do not have time (and nerves) to spend 60 hours to make this
every time the version changes

in many places I have purchased skins - who throw the first skin - will be online there, and later others.

so because that i do not rush anyone.

important to me is the quality - and speed of skins - and then the payment we will settle easily ;)

We'll discuss such customizations once we're done with the updates - it won't be added to the skins by default. :)

We all know that however long the rewrite takes , whatever skin is completed before another, that we'll be getting nothing but the best for IPB from the skinbox team. Not only when you buy from skinbox , you get useable features not often seen in other skins , but you get updates skins fairly regular throughout the version.

Patience builds character. :)

I just bought and installed the latest IPB version and Cielo. I was not given the option of choosing a different version when purchasing IPB. The skin I purchased, Cielo, definitely doesn't work with it. I tried installing it anyway, then selecting it as the theme broke the board. I don't know how to fix that, and I think IPB support doesn't cover third party products.

If I had the option of sticking with a previous version for now, I would. I do not. And as for "going through all this nonsense again," these IPB upgrades aren't compulsory, are they? If I ever get all this working together, I imagine I'll not.

I havent checked but Im surprised that IPB removed 3.1.4 from their downloads in their client area!?! When 3.1.4 was released, they kept 3.0.5 available for download for awhile until 3.1.4 was a stable release!! If they are providing 3.2.0 as a stable release now then I can see how they would discontinue the download for 3.1.4!! If this is the case, I wasnt aware of it so I apologize!!! IPB does and will continue to release updates in the future! Im sure 3.3.0 will cause the same headaches as 3.2.0 and ofcourse the previous versions unfortunately..

Our platform theme will be finished today - which means we'll start updating the skins tomorrow. :)

By the way, we've improved the customization options in our skins. We tried to take into account customizations that were often requested. Moreover, we'll be releasing something that I'm sure will ease customization (rest assured, it's not delaying the update). You'll like it a lot. :)

I am so eagerly awaiting to have the skins (especially the Elegant skin) updated to 3.2.x and am a bit disappointed you guys didn't start with this during the beta-testing of 3.2 :(

It is generally not a good idea to start coding on a beta version; everything can change a lot since the code is not frozen until final.

Great to hear, hopefully it won't take too long as my members are going crazy because of the default blue skin

I don't care how long it takes to update the skins as long as they are bug free and work in IE9. The new skins released in the last few months have been useless on sites that are visited by mostly IE9 visitors.

As you surely know, the final verison of IP.Board 3.2 is now released.

We will upgrade all our skins so they are fully compatible with 3.2 and all its components. Since the code changed a lot since 3.1.4, we see no other solution than completely redo the skins, from scratch. I know this is something you probably don't want to hear, but our update will take some time. It is hard work having to recreate 18 skins from scratch. We are also taking this opportunity to create a "Platform Theme", which will make it easier for us (and for you) to upgrade your skin(s) every time IP.Services decides to dramatically change their software.

Thank you for your understanding.

Olivier, when you go to redo the Brave skin and others for that matter, can you please include the Header PSD's

You only include the logo and header, but it would be nice if we had the bg_branding and the bg_branding_right

I've wanted to add small logos in the past on those two brandings, but never had the PSD's to do it.

Looking forward to the updates :)
