We are glad (and proud, and everything) to announce the release of the Viril IPB skin. This is a dark skin, perfect for gaming forums but can also be used for any kind of forum really since it ships with various backgrounds that completely change the look and feel of the skin. Background picker
The skin ships with a nice background picker and comes with 6 backgrounds by default - 3 "manly" backgrounds (moto, cars,...) and 3 "universal" backgrounds (color spectrums, fire,...).


Tabbed hooks
All hooks (recent topics, status updates, etc.) are now inside a nice fancy AJAX box with tabs. You've got to see this live. The whole "tabbed hooks" area can also be collapsed and expanded.


Last post preview
When you hover a forum block, you can see a preview of the latest post in that forum in a nice AJAX fade-in way. You've got to see this one live as well...


Avatars in forum view
We have gently replaced forum icons for topic starters' avatars.


Compatibility
Viril is compatible with the latest version of all IP.Services applications: Downloads, Blog, Gallery, Content, Chat and Nexus.

And more
Many more features are included in this skin, such as our smooth "Go to top" button, our login, skin chooser and active users lightbox, completely redesigned paginations, etc.

Please also note that the skin uses our brand new Framework that will be introduced and explained in details soon. You can also deactivate and customize the features (such as the background switcher) very easily. Tutorials on how to do that will be available this week.

Can't take a picture of what I am seeing right now but the corners on everything and the navigation in Google Chrome are all messed up.

Small precision, when we say very easy to deactivate the features, we mean it: if you want to deactivate the bg picker, open _config/features.ini and change "background-switcher=on" to "off". And that works for many features.

Regarding the tabbed hookes feature, Say if i add hooks myself, will these appear in there too?

Example: If i added Latest posts hook will this be shown along with recent topics

Yes - all the hooks will appear.

This is just a simple suggestion Please remove the ugly brown background for announcement topics BTW, awesome skin, I think I will buy it =). Just need to see how it is with no animation first.

Well I think the color choice could be something else, and the grey upper and lower border with the brown background looks weird to be honest. If you want to keep it brown you might want to make the borders a bit brownish as well (and not grey like they're now). I can fix this myself eventually when I buy it, it's not like it's keeping me from buying it, I just don't think it fit (and wanted to give feedback). But hey, we're all different I'd prefer a darker-blackish variant though.

Release is coming very quickly. New feature: Animation deactivation (this feature was planned but not completely done - you can see that if you open your viril.js). Two settings:

animations=on
hooks_animations=on

You can either deactivate animations for tabbed hooks only, or all animations.

For this release only, I will put a no-animation Viril online. You will have to pick it in the style chooser at the very bottom. I will let you know when this is setup.

+ a new feature with this release, to ease again customization (tutorials are coming).
