I realise that Paypal is convenient for the vendor but not always the system that buyers prefer.

Almost every skin site I go to wants paypal. It's a pity as I would certainly purchase from here. I never have any problem using visa (for example) and cannot understand why CC are not an alternative method.

I know PP will charge through CC, but one error (theirs or your own) and it's bye bye.... I went to the local bank yesterday to add money to paypal and they want $35 for the transaction !!

Delegating the payments to Paypal is a good thing, both for you and for us. Paypal's platform is secure and is used by a lot of merchants. Creating our own platform based on a direct credit card payment would cost a lot and there would not be any warranty that your credit card details are safe. I am not saying we are not as skilled as Paypal, but the website is developed by a single developer. Such a critical piece of software should not rely on a single person. Moreover, Paypal gives the buyer an easy way to get back his money in case of fraud.

However, I really don't understand your bank asks you for $35 to add money on Paypal..? Strange issue, I can't help on this point, but it never happened to me.
